Here are some assignments from class and some of the work kids have done.
Parent Problems -the challenge for students here is to actually put themselves in the role of a parent and come up with guidelines not based necessarily on what they want their parents to say to them, but what they would actually say if a parent - could be different. Maturity is required here.
Pretend that you are a parent of a teenager. You want to talk to them about alcohol and it’s role in their life. You may or may not be currently concerned about them drinking, but you are smart enough to know that this is not a topic that you should wait until something “bad” happens before you talk.
Come up with three rules or guidelines for your son or daughter regarding their alcohol use and any other situations involving alcohol.
Each rule/guideline needs a short justification or explanation with it – why you are saying this to them / why it is important.
You may complete this as a dialogue and get bonus points for the assignment.
